LEEP
Leep or cervical conization is a procedure that is used to treat precancerous cells on the cervix. Leep- short for loop electrosurgical excision procedure- removes abnormal tissue from the cervix using a thin wire loop that carries an electrical current. It is performed after abnormal cells are found from a pap smear, colposcopy or biopsy. For more information, click here.
